Modern farming is facing an extreme challenge: more and more people need to be fed off the available arable and grazing land. Every year, the world population grows by more people than live in Germany today. 800 million people suffer from famine.
Still significant: Agenda 21
Reaping more per hectare, while at the same time conserving natural resources - Agenda 21 puts the requirements of the future in a nutshell:
„[...] Agriculture needs to be intensified to meet future demands for commodities and to avoid further expansion onto marginal lands and encroachment on fragile ecosystems.
[...] The objective is to improve farm productivity in a sustainable manner, as well as to increase diversification, efficiency, food security and rural incomes, while ensuring that risks for the ecosystem are minimised.“
Implementation at Walterscheid
We improve productivity and functionality of agricultural machinery. In constant dialogue with the farming community all over the world, we develop visions for efficient and ecological agricultural production. And we consistently put them into practice: visions produce ideas, ideas generate agritechnical innovations. We assume responsibility for the economical and ecological production of our food - that is in keeping with our idea of sustainability.
Committed to sustainability
All our entrepreneurial thoughts and actions are guided by sustainable development. We are not interested in short-term trends, but in concepts that have a future. Our actions are not geared to short-term economic success, but to long-term strategies. In this way, we establish a balance between business success and responsible management of the resources entrusted to us - with our staff, our customers and our business partners. That is how proverbial Walterscheid quality is created anew every day - in production, development and service. We assume responsibility!
