Friction clutches must be released after each long period of inactivity. In the released state, the clutch must be turned so that any stuck friction linings are released from the mating surfaces.
Since the friction linings are permanently pressed on by the springs, they can stick to the drivers. Before the season, the friction clutches should be released to regain the set torque and thus ensure machine protection. To release, tighten the release screws evenly until the spring assembly is loose. Then start up the PTO shaft so that the individual linings loosen. Finally, loosen the screws again. You have to be even more careful if the coil springs are not clamped in a package but individually. Because each spring has its own preload here, you need to make some notes when you start airing or disassembling. Number each spring and then use a caliper gauge to determine its length. Only then, back off the nuts to vent until the springs are free. After turning the hub, the springs must be preloaded back to the original dimension (the old length). Follow your notes exactly.

Damaged or missing parts can only replace with original Walterscheid parts and retrofit them in accordance with regulations and after consultation with Walterscheid.

In particular, the characteristic values (e.g. vertical and pulling loads or torques) and the geometries (e.g. dimensions, screw hole patterns, free spaces) must be observed.
